The words Gentlemen's Quarterly first appeared on the cover of the oldest American magazine for men Apparel Arts in 1957. At first, they simply informed the reader that the magazine was a man's and went out quarterly. Soon the letters GQ acquired independent significance, especially after in 1983 the magazine bought the publishing house Condé Nast, and its editor became Art Cooper. In a short time, GQ has turned into a fashion magazine about the lifestyle in the metropolis.
In Russia, GQ came in 2001 and soon won thousands of audience thanks to cooperation with the best authors and photographers of all countries and continents.
Among the regular authors of GQ are the best representatives of their professions in Russia and abroad - whether they are photographers Terry Richardson and Danil Golovkin, columnists Gennady Iozefavicius and Lydia Maslova, interviewer Roman Super or exclusively Hollywood insiders who write exclusively for Russian GQ. GQ boasts a level of access to world stars, incomparable with any other Russian magazine in its segment. Especially for Russia on the covers of GQ actors Gerard Butler and Adrian Brody are shooting; in each issue - exclusive interviews with celebrities of the scale of Justin Timberlake, James Franco, and Robert Downey Jr.
Since 2016 Igor Garanin is the editor-in-chief of GQ and GQ Style.
