Le Journal du Jura is a Swiss- language daily newspaper founded in 1871 in Biel , canton Bern, and edited by a family business, W. Gassmann SA, located in Biel. Daily reference for the French-speaking population of the canton of Bern , it is distributed in the Bienne agglomeration and throughout the Bernese Jura . The future Nobel Peace Prize Elie Ducommun was one of his first collaborators. The daily Bieler Tagblatt , printed and published by the same company, is its counterpart for the German-speaking population of Biel. Both dailies are designed in the same editorial offices in the Media Center in Biel.
