Lecturas is a weekly Spanish magazine specialized in reporting on the social chronicle and the pink press. 1917 General Society Publications Readings launched a new literary monthly magazine sold at newsstands and bookstores at the price of 1.30 pesetas. Each issue had 120 pages and contained 3 novels, 7 stories, 1 comedy and 5 articles. After a few issues, the magazine stopped publishing until June 1921, when the publishing group Hymsa re-launched it as "magazine for the home" and literary supplement of The Home and Fashion. The magazine then had 100 pages and published short novels, short stories and plays by authors such as Jacinto Benavente , Clarín , Oscar Wilde , Azorín and Víctor Catalá . Illustrations of avant-garde artists, such asOpisso , Rafael Barradas , Junceda and Longoria, were the hallmarks of the pages and covers of Readings.
