metroxpress (at the start 'metroXpress') was the first free newspaper published daily in Denmark starting 3 September 2001 . Initially, the newspaper was only distributed in Copenhagen , but soon followed by publishing in Aarhus and later the rest of the country. In 2004 , the distribution of the newspaper increased so that it became nationwide in its own words. The newspaper is also available at many educational institutions. The newspaper is published in 223,757 copies Monday-Friday (2nd half of 2006) according to Danish Print Control . The reading figures in the first half of 2007 amounted to approx. 574,000, making metroxpress to Denmark's most read morning newspaper.
