Mokum Magazine was started in 2012 with its own financial resources by journalists Martijn van Stuyvenberg (1975) and Robert Plat (1981). For years they interviewed national and international world stars such as Beyoncé, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Robbie Williams, Eminem and Enrique Iglesias for magazines such as Hitkrant, Beau Monde, Veronica Magazine, Cosmopolitan and Tros Kompas. When the market for national public magazines completely collapsed, they took the risk of starting a free magazine for Amsterdammers in a handy format. From the very first edition Evelyne Dielen is the art director of Mokum Magazine.
