In the Netherlands, NEN, located in Delft, is the national standardization institute. The institute has been setting standards for more than ninety years. NEN guides the making of agreements about products, methods and services, and publishes them. It supports this process as an independent and reliable partner. NEN offers courses and advice to stimulate the use of standards and other agreements. In this way, multiple interests are united in a smart way. NEN also works on economic growth and well-being at European level (CEN, CENELEC and ETSI) and worldwide (ISO, IEC and ITU). Some 300 employees work there and more than 1,400 standards committees are active.
