NON – ALIGNED MOVEMENT (NAM) was founded in Belgrade in year 1961. It was brainchild of India’s First Prime Minister, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Yugoslavia’s First President Josip Broz Tito, Egypt’s Second President, Gamal Abdel Nasser and Indonesia’s First President, Sukarno. These leaders or we must say stalwarts joined hands together and penned down formation of such an Intergovernmental Organisation of States, which would be not aligned formally with or against any major power bloc. They took this step to advocate a middle course for states in the Developing World between the Western and Eastern Blocs in Cold War.
