The Oologah Lake Leader is Oklahoma’s most honored community newspaper. It has been named the best midsize weekly newspaper 16 times in the past 28 years by the Oklahoma Press Association. The Leader was founded in 1982 by J. R. Haney and has been owned since 1984 by John and Faith Wylie, who live in Oologah. The newspaper covers Oologah, Talala and northwest Rogers County.
