Radio Galega ( RG ) is the name of the public radio in Galicia, which is part of the Radio-Televisión de Galicia Corporation , which also includes Televisión de Galicia (TVG). Began to issue, in the testing phase, the 24 February of 1985 and began its regular schedule on March 29 of that year. Since mid-2009, its director is the journalist Rosa Martínez, replacing journalist Virxilio Costas. After the law was passed establishing the CRTVG in Parliament of Galicia on July 11 of 1984, works began the House Radio with remodeling of the old headquarters building of the residence of the military governor. Radio Galega began its tests broadcast on Sunday, February 24, 1985, the day that coincides with the anniversary of the birth of poetess Rosalía de Castro. Its regular programming began on March 29, 1985, and as of this date, its broadcasts ran 24 hours a day continuously in Galician. The direct Fío program was the first of those made by the Information Services of the station. Initially presented by Pedro Revaldería, in its third issue, it was directed and presented by Xosé María Fernández Pazos, who took it until October 1985, when he went on to coordinate the weekend news.
