Radio Munot is a private radio station in Switzerland with headquarters in Schaffhausen and was founded in 1983. Named after the landmark of Schaffhausen, the fortress Munot . The transmission area covers the whole canton Schaffhausen, parts of the canton Thurgau and Zurich. Radio Munot can also be received in the German border area. In 2005, the daily reach was over 60,000 listeners. Radio Munot produces a full program for the Schaffhausen region, committed to the idea of public service. Regional news will be sent half an hour. The national and international news on the hour have been taken over by Radio Freiburg since 2010. Radio Munot is financed by advertising and receives as compensation for the service public as part of the fee splitting about 250,000 francs per year (2005) from the license fees.
