The Setmanari de l'Alt Empordà is a regional and pluralistic publication, written in Catalan, which provides general and proximate information. This weekly Empordan was born in Figueres on January 4, 1978,  during the period of democratic transition . On February 16, 2005, the Editorial L'Empordà joined the group Editorial Prensa Ibérica. Currently , the Alt Empordà Weekend belongs to the Catalan Press Association (ACPC) and has a total of 5,769 weekly copies.
