The Suwannee Democrat was established in 1884. Myra C. Regan is the Publisher and Stuart Taylor is the Editor. Regan and Taylor form the newspaper's Editorial Board. That board forms “The Democrat Says.”

The Suwannee Democrat is printed two days a week, Wednesday and Friday, and provides online news seven days a week.

The Democrat serves Suwannee County including Live Oak, Wellborn, Dowling Park, Branford, McAlpin and O’Brien

In addition to The Suwannee Democrat print edition, The Democrat also publishes a quarterly news magazine, the Suwannee Valley Scene, as well as numerous specialty pages and sections.
