Sydöstran is a Swedish newspaper in Karlskrona with the coverage area of Blekinge County. The leadership side is social democratic. Owned earlier by the A-Press but since the 1992 A-Press Competition, it is independent of the party. The newspaper was originally founded by a rock shaker from Karlshamn. It has a publishing Monday-Saturday and is distributed by the newspaper carriers. The central editorial office is located in Karlskrona, and there are local editors in Karlshamn, Ronneby, Sölvesborg and Olofström. South East is owned 90.1 percent by Gota Media, the remaining 9.9 percent of the newspaper is owned by the labor movement in Blekinge. The newspaper is published by Sydöstran AB. Chief editor and responsible publisher is Gunnar Svensson, Chief Executive Officer is Hans Bülow and CEO Marie Erlandsson. South East was formerly Southeastern Dagblad between 1921 and 1973 and was formed as Blekinge Folkblad 1903.
