Telebasel is a regional Swiss television station. On June 13, 1993, Telebasel broadcast the first program. Telebasel is the only Swiss regional television station, behind which no publishing house or private investors stand. The broadcaster is financially, economically and politically independent. Around 60% of the funding is provided through advertising, sponsorship and TV production services. 40% of the financing is provided by public service money from the OFCOM concession and the cable networks Basel, Allschwil (BL) and Schönenbuch (BL). The range of Telebasel is around 101'000 people daily. In the second half of 2014, Telebasel had the largest daily daily range per broadcast area and counted the largest market share of all licensed German-speaking regional TV channels in Switzerland.
