The Teton Valley News was founded in 1909 and has endured many changes in its almost century of publication. On January of 2006 Pioneer Newspapers Inc. of Seattle acquired the paper from its previous owner, Grand Teton News. The group of Wyoming family owners included Gary and Sue Stevenson, Robb and Jen Hicks, and Tom and Annie Mullen.
