The Lens is an online news source that was founded in 2009. It covers criminal justice, schools, government & politics, environment. It was started by many former Times-Picayune editors and reporters although there is no relation between the two. Mission is to educate, engage and empower readers with information and analysis necessary for them to advocate for a more transparent and just governance that is accountable to the public.
