Tranås-Posten, news and advertising agency for Northern Småland and Södra Östergötland, published its first issue in 1918.
Now we write year 89, and history has happened a lot. An infinite amount has been reproduced in the newspaper's slots.
To take everything from the beginning:
On December 6, 1918 the first edition was released. Shortly after the end of World War I, Tranås-Posten came down. The board of former grocery merchant Gottfrid Carlson, as one of the eldsjälarna, had then succeeded in purchasing mechanical equipment and hiring staff. The first editor of the TP was F Muthén.
In the end, there was much left to handle the craft to produce a readable newspaper. Among other things, so-called split lines were lacking. The days prior to publishing some people, they bought the most important details for newspaper production at the time.
After a few years, the newspaper was moved to the neighborhood at Nygatan, where Tranås-Posten was produced in lead press until 1975.
The switch to offset printing was revolutionary and facilitated the graphic production of TP, which since its inception was a three-day newspaper.
The magazine has occasionally, in order to be able to keep up with the development of changed format and typographic design.
On October 18, 1978, Tranås-Posten transferred to tabloid format and morning release, the same format as TP today. This was preceded by the fact that the Östgöta Correspondent bought the newspaper by the owner family on September 1 that year.
Legendary editor-in-chief of TP was Axel E Johnson, the signature JoJo, dating back to 1962. He came to Tranås Post 1924 from Norrbotten's Kuriren in Luleå.
His son-in-law, Stig-Göran Göranson, took over the editorial board, and served as a responsible publisher until 1980.
During the Östgöta Correspondent's period as owner, Pär Argus was the location manager and responsible publisher with Hans Lindell as editor of the board.
In 1991, the Board of Directors of ÖC decided on a sale or possible closure of Tranås Posten. Entrepreneur Lars G Ruhr with newspaper loss on, among other things, Northern Skåne chose to leave the Ericsson Group and take up the fight for local newspaper readers in Tranås.
