TVO (formerly Tele Ostschweiz) has been on the air since 1999 and supplies the cantons of St. Gallen, Appenzell Innerrhoden, Appenzell Ausserrhoden and parts of the Canton of Thurgau with current regional information. With a budget of around 3.5 million francs a year, TVO employs around 30 people today (excluding administration and advertising sales). Every day around 100,000 people turns on TVO's broadcasts. TVO AG, the operator of TVO, is a subsidiary of NZZ Mediengruppe.
