The Urner Wochenblatt is a Swiss weekly newspaper, which reports since 1876 on the events in the canton of Uri. It is the largest newspaper in the canton of Uri and belongs to Gisler 1843 AG.In 1880, Gisler Druck AG was commissioned to print the Urner Wochenblatt. Co-founder and editor of the weekly paper were the Landammann and Council of States Gustav Muheim, who designed the newspaper to a party bulletin of the Catholic Conservative Party. In 2006, Gisler Druck AG took over the now politically independent forum newspaper from the former publishing house cooperative and thus also the publisher's responsibility. The company renamed Gisler 1843 AG in 2016 is the only Urner media house. It also publishes the free indicator Uristier and prints the Uri Official Gazette.
