Washington County News

The Washington County News was founded in 1893 as the Chipley Banner Flag but changed its name in 2003 when it acquired the Washington County Post. The paper is published on Wednesday and Saturday along with a supplemental publication, The Weekly Advertiser. There are two major events that characterize Washington County’s reputation for down home hospitality: The annual Watermelon Festival and the World Famous Possum Festival.

The Washington County News can also help you access other nearby GateHouse Media publications, such as the Holmes County Times-Advertiser and the daily News Herald in Panama City.
