Since 1981, the magazine project WIDERSPRUCH follows the claim formulated in the editorial of the first issue "Crisis of Parties" (March 1981): "to become a theoretical-political discussion forum and to represent a broader left-wing spectrum." What began then in political disputes within the left , could soon establish itself as a political-editorial project.
The journal is politically independent of parties, organizations and institutions. It provides a platform for open and critical debates, used by authors from different working and research contexts, from social movements and trade unions, from politics, culture and science at home and abroad. We publish contributions from Switzerland, Germany and Austria, from the French and Anglo-Saxon language area, from many world regions (in German translation).
The biannual theme books receive wide response. They are regularly reviewed in virtually all major Swiss and German newspapers, magazines and documentaries (> Press Reviews). Again and again, individual contributions from WIDERSPRUCH magazines are reprinted in such media.
