Description

The Maker Expo host, NKY Makerspace, needs your support! The regional non-profit enables students from K-12 to engage in making, creating, innovating, and collaborative problem solving through a variety of activities including field trips, extracurricular activities, and summer programming. We are currently fundraising for technology, individual STEM kits, and The Maker Expo.

Career Corner Table – Sponsors will have space available to provide attendees information about their career and internship opportunities.
Maker Table Sponsor – We will have five hands-on activity tables, primarily geared towards elementary aged students but available to all attendees. Silver Sponsors will have their logo featured at one of the five Maker Tables.
Challenges Sponsor – We will be offering two challenges during the 2023 Maker Expo. In the Brick Build Challenge that is open to students in grades 1-8, students will work with LEGOs to engineer a wildlife themed construction to be entered into the challenge. In the Chalk Art Challenge open to all high school students, students will use chalk to create artwork inspired by the visual art/music/etc. of past decades to be entered into the challenge. There will be four different awards and prizes available. Gold Sponsors will be recognized with their logo on the awards and in the display area where attendees will vote on the People’s Choice award.
Expo Title Sponsor – Platinum Sponsors will have their logo prominently displayed on the homepage of The Maker Expo website. They will also be listed as the presenting sponsor on the event flyers, banners and marketing materials.

Technology - In order to give young people access to current maker resources, the NKY Makerspace needs to update technology like 3D printers, computers, die-cutters, and educational robotics.
Individual STEM Kits for Remote Field Trips - In response to pandemic restrictions, the NKY Makerspace created and began offering Remote Field Trips with accompanying Individual STEM Kits. These field trips enable students to engage in hands-on maker activities from their homes or classrooms. We need to purchase the consumable materials for ~1500 young people we expect to participate in the remote field trip experiences.
The Maker Expo - This celebration of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) making will be held at the Ignite Institute on May 6, 2023 from 10am-2pm. The family-focused expo will feature 100+ activities and exhibits from students, schools, artists, companies, and organizations in the Greater Cincinnati area. We need to rent equipment for the event and purchase maker resources for our interactive projects. We are hoping to receive enough community donations to make this event free for families.
