We are looking for a dynamic, well-connected fashion editor to create, develop and execute photoshoots and write fashion and beauty content for the weekly fashion pages and website of Friday magazine. The successful candidate should be passionate about the latest fashion trends and be able to bring their creative ideas to life.

The candidate will:

Plan Friday’s weekly fashion pages with the editor.

Style fashion shoots to a high standard, to deadline and on budget.

Write articles and features for web and print in clear, stylish, engaging English.

Be comfortable interviewing the top people in the industry.

Possess a contacts book with all the major fashion and beauty brands on call.

Be aware of the latest trends and translate them into fashion shoots and stories that are relevant to the reader.

Have a strong understanding of the fashion and beauty markets in the UAE.

Understand the requirements of both digital and print media.

Pull items for shoots from brands and stores that reflect the magazine’s positioning.

Work closely with the design team and picture desk on concepts for shoots and editing images.

Produce fashion shoots from the first concept, to finding shoot locations, putting together the team and styling.

Keep up-to-date with fashion and beauty stories both locally and internationally.

Attend press events and establish and maintain relationships with brands.

Have excellent interpersonal and team management skills

Be creative and possess an eye for detail

Hold a BSc degree in journalism fashion design or related field

A UAE driving license and car is preferable.

Experience in styling both western and Indian fashion shoots is preferable.
