The wait is officially over — and trust us, this one’s worth the hype. After years of anticipation, Abu Dhabi’s most-awaited cultural gem, the Zayed National Museum, is finally opening its majestic doors on December 3, 2025.

Nestled in the heart of the Saadiyat Cultural District, this museum isn’t just another attraction; it’s a grand tribute to the life, legacy, and vision of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE. Designed by the world-renowned Foster + Partners, the museum’s architecture draws inspiration from the falcon’s wings in flight — an emblem of power, grace, and heritage. But it’s not just a feast for the eyes. The museum is built with sustainability at its core, blending traditional cooling methods with cutting-edge green technology.

From ‘Our Beginning’ to ‘To Our Roots,’ these exhibits take visitors on a time-traveling journey through early settlements, the rise of Islam, and the evolution of Emirati culture. One of the showstoppers?

A 300,000-year-old stone tool was unearthed at Jebel Hafit in Al Ain, giving a rare glimpse into the region’s ancient past. The museum will house 3,000 artifacts, with 1,500 pieces permanently on display. Expect more than static exhibits — think live performances, film screenings, and workshops that bring the UAE’s story to life. And when you’re ready to refuel, you’ll find Emirati flavors at Erth, fresh brews at Al Ghaf Café, or tranquil bites at the Garden Cafes.

Adding to its inclusive spirit, the museum will also be the first cultural institution in the Middle East to join the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower programme. Come December 2025, history, heritage, and heart unite — all under one stunning falcon-shaped roof.
