The most awaited FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tickets are selling fast.

On Wednesday, the World Cup organizers said, that around 1.2 million tickets have been sold for this year's FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The secretary-general of Qatar’s Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, Hassan Al-Thawadi shared the official figures for the first time at Qatar Economic Forum which was held in Doha from June 20 to June 22.

Hassan Al-Thawadi said there had been record-breaking demand for the November-December FIFA World Cup which will be held in the Middle East for the first time.

“I think about 1.2 million tickets have already been purchased,” he said at the Qatar Economic Forum.

“So people are actually buying and people are excited to come here. There’s no doubt about that,” he added.

According to the organizers, a total of 40 million applications request were received in the first two phases of the sale.

A total of 3 million tickets were available for the prestigious event. Within that 3 million, only 2 million tickets were available to fans as 1 million tickets were kept for FIFA Officials and World Cup sponsors.

1.2 million tickets have been sold so far in the first two phases according to Hassan Al-Thawadi. So as per calculations, only 8,00,000 tickets will be available for the third and the last sales phase.

However, the dates for the third phase have not been announced yet. The system for the third official sale phase will be on a first come first serve basis.
