Mashable: Al Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo reveals whether he plans to become a coach when he retires

Cristiano Ronaldo fans, assemble!

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the greatest footballers in the world and there's no denying it. Recently, he signed a new two-year contract with the Saudi Pro League Club, Al Nassr.

What's next after he completes two more years as an Al Nassr player? There have already been speculations regarding what CR7 will do once he hangs up his boots, with some believing that he will become a coach. In a recent video shared on Al Nassr's official YouTube channel, Ronaldo clearly stated that coaching is not for him, before adding that everything can change in life.

"Being a coach? Right now, I can say I will never be one, although 'never' is a strong word. The reality is that it's not in my plans in five, ten, or even twenty years. But as we know, life is full of surprises," said Ronaldo.

Ronaldo has been playing for Al Nassr since January 2023. There were rumours of him leaving the club, but he decided to stay until 2027. Sharing a post on Instagram, he wrote, "A new chapter begins. Same passion, same dream. Let's make history together."

Before signing the deal, he had an opportunity to transfer and play at the FIFA Club World Cup. However, he decided not to. The reason, you ask? "I think it didn't make sense because I prefer to have a good rest, a good preparation, because this season will be very long, as it is the World Cup season at the end of the year," he said on Al Nassr's YouTube video.

Ronaldo added that he wants to be ready for Al Nassr, as well as his national team, Portugal. "This is why I decided to play the last game for the Nations League and not listen to anything," he added.
