Mashable: Telegram's CEO claims that Apple demanded the removal of a new feature dubbed Telemoji.
Telegram’s newest update to the app has been stalled in Apple's review process for two weeks without any meaningful word from the firm, Telegram’s CEO Pavel Durov said in a message sent to his Telegram channel on August 10.
The upgrade went live yesterday, as reported by The Verge, and Durov once again addressed the situation in Telegram. Telegram's CEO claims that Apple demanded the removal of a new feature dubbed Telemoji, which Durov describes as "better quality vector-animated versions of the conventional emoji." He provided a sneak peek at what they will look like, and although they are identical to Apple's standard emoji set, they include some fairly cute animations that may make texting a lot more fun.
In his blog post, Durov expressed his confusion at Apple's decision to reject Telemoji, which he said would have greatly improved Apple's environment by adding a new dimension to the company's static, low-resolution emoji. It's unclear how adding this feature will benefit Apple as a whole, and the company's seeming obsession with it is surprising given that Telegram currently offers a wide variety of emoji and stickers that exceed those available on iOS. According to Durov, the firm will take the effort to make Telemoji "even more distinctive and recognized," and he pointed out that the most recent update to Telegram includes more than ten new emoji packs.
However, the most recent Telegram version still includes several emoji-related enhancements. An "open emoji platform" will be released, the business claims, allowing anybody to add their own set of emoji for usage by subscribers to Telegram's premium service.
Even if you don't pay for the premium version of the app, you may preview the personalized emoji and try them out in "saved messages" like reminders and notes. Tapping on a custom emoji might trigger an animated response that takes across the whole screen.
