Apple debuted mini-LED with its iPad Pro this year and its no surprise that mini-LED is the direction Apple is looking at for its entire portfolio going forward. The Cupertino giant is now claimed to be introducing it to the MacBook Air next year, consistent with a notable analyst.
As per an AppleInsider report, the MacBook Air is claimed to feature a 13.3-inch mini-LED for next year, consistent with analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The investor note also had a mention that Sunrex should join Apple's supply chain later this year to supply light guides for the upcoming model’s scissor switch keyboards. Currently, the M1 MacBook Air features a 13.3-inch standard LED-backlit display, so it doesn't appear as if Apple intends on changing up the display size when launching the new product in mid-2022.
Kuo earlier predicted that Apple is functioning on a fresh design for the 2022 MacBook Air, though he didn't care to say those changes intimately . Fortunately, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has commented that the portable Mac will arrive during a thinner, lighter body, along side a MagSafe connector and USB 4 ports. Customers who wanted additional performance from the current-generation MacBook Air are going to be pleased to understand that Apple will be working on its M2 chipset for the upcoming machine.
The M2 is predicted to be made on an equivalent advanced 5nm process as was the A15 Bionic for the iPhone 13 lineup, so we strongly believe that improved performance and power efficiency should get on the cards. However, unlike the upcoming M1X, the M2 is rumoured to feature four performance and 4 efficient cores, with the likelihood of nine or ten graphics processing cores. In short, the M2 will improve where the M1 left off, while also delivering advancements in security, AI, and other areas.
Apple is also set to introduce mini-LED to the 11-inch iPad Pro come next year, giving customers more options in enjoying that upgraded display. With this alteration arriving for the MacBook Air in mid-2022, it'll open a gateway for consumers wanting a far better screen, but without having to pay that premium.
