Apple is going to start repairing Face ID of iPhones instead of replacing them.
We cannot deny that Apple has a lot of resources and the company always works on expanding the fields that it covers. For example, the company always looks to attract customers by improving their existing technologies. As a matter of fact, the world’s greatest minds have some flaws inside them and similarly Apple cannot be called a flawless giant. To prove this point, we can say that Apple also turns down its customers very often. For instance, whenever the Face ID in an Apple device is not working and the user takes it to the authorised service centres, the representatives won’t repair it and they will tell the user to replace the device with a new one.
However, the company is reportedly working on these petty issues and will come out with a solution very soon. Apple took four years to figure out the problem and now it is going to start repairing the Face ID of an Apple device instead of replacing it with a new one. The devices which will be eligible for replacement of Face ID are iPhone XS, iPhone 11 series, iPhone 12 series, iPhone 13 series and above. It is also being said that whoever brings an iPhone with a damaged TrueDepth camera, will not get a device replacement offer.
As reported, after this new policy is implemented, Apple will be organising full training sessions for authorised service representatives and also, they will be getting the dedicated tools and replacement parts to repair the units. This initiative will reduce the carbon footprint of the company and contribute to Apple’s goal of being carbon neutral by 2030. The company has also said that it will let users repair their respective devices on their own by 2022. However, there are no follow up announcements to this statement yet.
