Tech Apple is reportedly working on a new entry-level iPad with Apple Intelligence support. According to the leak, the device will be powered by the A18 chipset — the same processor found in the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, and iPhone 16e.
Notably, Apple Intelligence is available on iPhone models from the iPhone 15 Pro onward, including the iPhone 16 series. It’s also supported on iPads with the M1 chip or later, and Macs with the M1 chip or later as well. The information comes from code references accidentally revealed by Apple, making the details official even though they weren’t meant to be public yet. The A18 chip is expected to enable full support for Apple Intelligence, which includes features like smart summarization, image generation, and enhanced Siri capabilities.
The next-gen iPad is likely to retain the same design as its predecessor, with most changes focused on internal performance. However, these are just early leaks, so nothing can be confirmed at this moment. The new iPad is expected to launch in spring 2026, following Apple’s usual release cycle for its budget tablets. While no other specs have been confirmed, the focus on AI and performance suggests Apple is aiming to make its entry-level iPad more capable and future-ready.
