Indoor entertainment has become the norm for almost two years since the pandemic locked people away from outdoor activities, including weekend visits to movie theatres. This has created a higher demand for OTT platforms, which in turn prompt consumers in the Arab world to look for high-tech gadgets for enhancing sights and sounds.

Even as smart homes are evolving in connected urban spaces of the gulf region, major brands have incorporated sophisticated solutions like AI and cloud storage into smartphones and laptops. To mark the entry of intelligent tech in futuristic households, South Korean electronics major LG has launched a lineup of OLED TVs, equipped with AI to enhance the movie viewing experience.

The smart devices will provide crystal clear visuals in 4K, and have deep learning powered by an Alpha 9 Gen 4 AI processor. This component is designed to recognise bodies and faces of individuals on the screen, and can also differentiate the foreground from the background.

By processing each object separately, the system paints a more lifelike picture on the screens which are anything between 48 inches to 83 inches large. Smart vision also focuses on specific characters for better storytelling, by bringing them forward in full 3D glory.

The TV which delivers realistic images is also capable of creating an immersive experience via enhanced sounds, thanks to Virtual 5.1.2 surround sound up-mixing amplified through powerful speakers. The intelligent device is also empowered by Auto Volume Levelling for adjusting the sound according to the streaming platform or content being played.

Following its exit from the smartphone market, LG has integrated it's webOS 6.0 into the wider screen, and uses it for smooth navigation between apps. It also encourages users to explore content by processing data to deliver personalised recommendations.

But to complete an experience customised specifically for audiences in the gulf region, LG has upgraded its range of TVs to understand voice commands in Arabic.
