Mashable: Boxing craze in Saudi Arabia just got bigger!
The world’s first-ever Mike Tyson gym is headed soon to Riyadh, the Capital of Saudi Arabia.
According to The Siasat Daily, the first Mike Tyson boxing gym in the world is scheduled to open in Saudi Arabia next month.
The boxing gym which will soon open in the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh will be managed by Joe Gallagher, a celebrated and world-renowned boxing trainer.
The Mike Tyson Boxing Gym will be a part of the series of events of the popular Riyadh Season.
The head of Riyadh Season, Turki Al Alshikh, recently took to his official Instagram account and announced the agreement with boxing trainer Joe Gallagher.
As per the agreement, the award-winning boxing trainer will oversee the state-of-the-art facility in Riyadh. The gym’s main aim will be the discovery, nurturing, and training the emerging boxing talents in the Gulf.
Joe Gallagher will also reportedly take the role of training and developing Saudi teenage boxing prospect Mohammad AI-Akl. Meanwhile, boxing legend and Hall of Famer, Mike Tyson will actively participate in the management of the gym.
As per the news outlet, the announcement coincides with Riyadh Season’s upcoming “Battle of the Baddest” WBC event which is scheduled to take place on October 28, 2023. The highly anticipated battle will feature a bout between Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury.
Meanwhile, Joe Gallagher who is known for producing British and world champions, is also the recipient of the UK Boxing News Trainer of the Year award twice.
