Chinese and Syrian Media To Continue Co-operation

Chinese and Syrian media will continue to co-operate in every aspect especially when Syria is facing a crisis. The relevance of media cooperation was announced by the Chinese Ambassador to Syria Qi Qianjin while speaking at the headquarters of the local al-Watan newspaper in Damascus. The Chinese Ambassador emphasized that the need of the hour is to cooperate in every aspect including media and also hailed the ongoing cooperation between the two countries over the past seven years in different areas.

Mr. Qi Qianjin pointed out that China is planning many other activities like an exchange of visits for journalists from both the countries which will be an apt gesture to boost the ties between China and Syria. He also expressed his hope that both the countries can share their views through media. The Ambassador was making his opinion while handing over computers and cameras to Syrian newspaper Al-Watan. This was donated to the newspaper by the Chinese embassy to establish a strong relationship between the countries’ media.

 Waddah Abd Rabbo, editor-in-chief of al-Watan newspaper, said the Syrian media need a continuous support in the face of the challenges and crisis. He added that this mutual cooperation can help in the understanding of the culture, lifestyles, and traditions of both Syria and China. Moreover, the ongoing Syrian crisis can be highlighted to the international readers also.
