On September 17, Al-Nassr fired 63-year-old head coach Luis Castro. The decision to fire him came after Al-Nassr's poor start to the season with just one win in three games.
The club shared a photo of Luis Castro on X (formerly known as Twitter) and wrote, "AlNassr can announce that Head Coach Luis Castro has left the Club. Everyone at AlNassr would like to thank Luis and his staff for their dedicated work during the past 14 months, wishing them the best of luck for the future."
Ronaldo took to his Instagram Stories and shared a picture of himself with the coach. He captioned the pic, "Obrigado por tudo, Mister. Thank you for everything."
In April 2023, Al-Nassr made headlines for firing coach Rudi Garcia after reports claiming that he had a deteriorating relationship with the players including Cristiano Ronaldo.
On the other hand, Ronaldo recently grabbed attention for creating history by becoming the first person in the world to surpass one billion followers across all social media platforms. The Al-Nassr superstar is one of the most followed celebrities on social media. For the uninitiated, he has 639 followers on Instagram. In August, he launched his own YouTube channel and broke multiple records. The Portuguese star has 62 million subscribers on YouTube.
