Mashable: The match was dubbed as the final dance of their historic rivalry at the King Fahd Stadium in Riyadh.

It's not the brilliant performances on the field that make a rivalry memorable or great; it's the kind gestures and respect that both sides show for one another. The Lionel Messi-Cristiano Ronaldo GOAT debate may be over, with both players nearing the end of their careers and unlikely to compete for a championship.

However, on Thursday night, when they squared off in what was dubbed as the final dance of their historic rivalry at the King Fahd Stadium in Riyadh, the two attempted to take fans back to the glory days. And there is no doubt that Ronaldo's million-dollar post on the iconic Messi moment would go viral after the game.

For either club, it was not a game that had any significance. But the thousands who had attended the match and the millions who remained glued to their televisions on Thursday night were immensely entertained as both Ronaldo and Messi found their names on the scoresheet in what resulted in a spectacular goal fest.

Messi and Marquinhos gave PSG two leads in the first half, but Ronaldo's two goals nullified both scores. Even though it was a friendly match, the score remained tied until Hugo Ekitike's goal in the 78th minute gave PSG the lead and a 5-4 victory.

After the match, Ronaldo shared pictures from the friendly match on social media, including the handshake and hug he shared with Messi just before the start of the game.

Sharing the pictures, he wrote, “So happy to be back on the pitch, and on the score sheet!! And nice to see some old friends!”

The post has received 17.1 million likes till now, with fans flooding the comment section. One fan wrote, "That photo of you and Messi is epic!!!" While another wrote, "2 goats and 2 legends, one goat is better at scoring and the other one is the best at team playing."

It may be mentioned that Ronaldo will make his Saudi Professional League debut on Sunday, January 22, when Al Nassr takes on Al Ettifaq at Mrsool Park in Riyadh.
