From digital libraries to galleries that showcase Islamic art turned into NFTs, the Middle East has started using technology for promoting its regional literature, heritage and culture. Dubai recently hosted an art fest in the post-pandemic era, and has also unveiled the gulf's largest digital art facility, that delivers a captivating experience.
Global giants like Microsoft have also formed partnerships to facilitate digitisation of museums in Qatar, while virtual tours of historical sights in Lebanon are transforming tourism. Following its Arab peers, Turkey has also jumped on the bandwagon by introducing a high-tech truck, equipped with tools to drive home the message about its cultural, historical and national achievements.
The vehicle which is meant to cover 52 provinces in the country, will have a 3D holographic box, along with sensors and a green screen. The motion reading tech will scan visitors who walk into the truck, and will generate animation based on the data.
Green surfaces which have been used for visual effects, will allow people to get clicked in front of the background of their choice. Similar tech has also been introduced at retail stores in Dubai, where consumers can check out their look in different surroundings, thanks to smart mirrors in changing rooms.
As for the 3D server, it will highlight Turkey's feats through visual imagery accompanied by information. The truck will use holograms to create a show featuring its ultra-marine drill ship called Fatih.
Tech geeks enthusiastic about the country's recent progress in developing drones, can also take a virtual ride of the autonomous aerial vehicles.
In the past few months, Turkey has manufactured its first fully homegrown electric bus and even started exporting smart wagons designed in the country.
Elsewhere in the region, AI that can write poetry and an artificial moon that lights up surroundings after reading a person's emotions, are on display at an event in Dubai.
