Mashable: It will allow workers to have a greater work-life balance.
n case you haven't heard, Dubai has announced a four-day working week and reduced hours for government employees. It is set to begin on July 1 and run until September 12, 2025. It will allow workers to have a greater work-life balance.
Dubai summer working hours explained: The temporary change in work schedule will align with the official five-day working hours. Government employees across twenty-one entities will be divided into two groups.
The first group will work for eight hours from Monday until Thursday and get Friday off. The second group will work for seven hours from Monday until Thursday, and work for four-and-a-half hours on Friday.
Last year, too, Dubai tested a four-day working week with shorter daily hours for government employees, and it turned out to be successful. The trial period ran from August until the end of September and was only applicable to 15 government entities.
Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Director General of the Dubai Government Human Resources Department, opened up about the new initiative, saying, "It demonstrates our firm commitment to enhancing the government work environment, making it more adaptable and responsive to the needs of employees and the community."
