Mashable: Dubai Mall witnessed a record 105 million visitors in 2023

Dubai Mall became the “most visited place on earth” in 2023.

According to the Khaleej Times, Dubai Mall on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, said it received a record 105 million visitors last year, making it the most visited place on Earth last year.

Dubai Mall, which is also the second-largest shopping mall in the world witnessed a jump of over 19 percent on the previous year, 2022’s 88 million visitors.

In a statement, the Mall said that it became the most visited place globally with staggering numbers in 2023. New figures also showed an astonishing 20 million people visiting the mall in the first two months of 2024 alone.

“These numbers reflect Dubai Mall’s impressive status and mirror the forward-thinking leadership and strong economy of Dubai,” said Emaar founder Mohamed Alabbar. “Our mall embodies the city’s vibrant spirit and dedication to excellence, turning the leadership’s vision into a reality, he said adding, “Being an integral part of Dubai’s economic fabric, we play a crucial role in the city’s success and innovation.”

“This wide range of nationalities not only underscored the mall’s worldwide charm but also reflected the cosmopolitan culture of Dubai itself,” the Emaar founder added.

Dubai Mall was built in the year 2008. It is a major tourist destination in the Emirates as it also provides entry to view the world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo.

Dubai Mall measures 1.2 million square meters and has an ice-skating rink, cinema complex, and gaming zone, among other things.
