Mashable: He posted a screenshot of his phone storage that showed Twitter taking up a whopping 9.52 GB of space.
Elon Musk may be the CEO of Twitter, but he’s not winning any popularity contests with his latest tweet. The tech mogul, who bought the social media giant last year and promised to make it “The Everything App”, posted a screenshot of his phone storage that showed Twitter taking up a whopping 9.52 GB of space. That’s more than Whatsapp, Discord and even PornHub, which occupied 11 GB on his phone. “Sorry this app takes up so much space,” he wrote sarcastically.
The tweet, which has been viewed over 81.7 million times and liked by more than 714 K people, did not go down well with many Twitter users who are already frustrated with the changes Musk has made to the platform.
Some of them complained about losing their accounts and followers due to a massive suspension wave, while others demanded that he fix the app’s bugs and glitches. While others replied their own take on the post which are rather funny and hilarious.
Some users also pointed out that the screenshot was not even Musk’s own, but a meme that he had stolen from someone else.
Here are some reactions.
This is not the first time that Musk has faced backlash for his tweets about Twitter. A few days ago, he announced that Twitter Blue Verified subscribers would be able to upload two-hour-long videos (8GB) on the platform. While some users welcomed the new feature, others criticized it as unnecessary and elitist.
Musk, who is known for his eccentric and controversial tweets, has not responded to the negative reactions yet.
