Emirati astronaut Sultan AlNeyadi recently practiced Jiu-Jitsu at International Space Station.
The United Arab Emirates-based astronaut Sultan AlNeyadi wore a Jiu-Jitsu uniform and practiced the sport in space.
The Arab astronaut also demonstrated the ways in which practicing Jiu-Jitsu on the planet Earth helped him perform maneuvers on the International Space Station.
On May 5, 2023, the Emirati astronaut shared yet another video from the International Space Station.
This time, the Sutan of Space posted a fascinating and informative video about Jiu-Jitsu.
The UAE astronaut in the video said that martial art helped with the preparation of his first long-duration space mission, performing a spacewalk in outer space, and even thriving on the International Space Station.
On Thursday, Sultan Al Neyadi scripted another chapter in the books of history and became the first person to do jiu-jitsu in space.

Sultan, the first Arab to embark on the longest space mission on the International Space Station (ISS), shared a six-minute-long video on Twitter.
In the video, Sultan Al Neyadi is seen wearing a Kimono. He opened up about how martial art helped him perform his first historic spacewalk.
After introducing him, Sultan Al Neyadi revealed his love for Jiu-Jitsu. The astronaut said that he has been doing the sport for “many years” and it helped him a lot with his “preparation” for this mission. The astronaut said Jiu-Jitsu also helped him get adapted to the environment on the International Space Station.
The astronaut also talked about the specific and unique circumstances in which Jiu-Jitsu poses came in handy. Sultan AlNeyadi also demonstrated a front roll and back flip aboard the floating laboratory.
