Editor in Chief of ES Magazine Laura Weir has promised to continue providing information and entertainment to readers adapting to the new normal that is everyday life.
As London faces one of the worst crises in its history, ES Magazine publishes its We Are One cover, an artwork designed by Anthony Burrill to unite London to come together to fight the impact that Covid-19 is having upon our city and its people. #Londontogether is the message given to the readers this week and in the pages of this magazine, in the daily newspaper and online at standard.co.uk. The magazine also will of course be bringing you news and ways to survive isolation, but also ideas on how to help others during the crisis . It is only through checking that your neighbour’s children have enough to eat (and doing so while obeying the Government’s public proximity guidelines); that your friend with mental health problems is holding up; or by FaceTime-ing, Zooming or Housepartying with friends using the myriad digital ways to stay in touch, without being in physical contact.
Editor of ES Magazine Laura Weir says “ We also need to be kind. This is not a time for hoarding but a time for giving — for not taking the last onion or bottle of bleach off the shelves, for paying it forward in the hope that the shopper behind you got the empathy memo, too. Some lives are being completely shattered by this virus, so make sure you aren’t helping to wield the hammer. Be generous, be aware, and even though you might be inside them, think beyond your four walls.
As of next week, ES Magazine will be delivered by door drop for the very first time to 26 neighbourhoods in zones 2 and 3. Readers can also grab a copy in thousands of supermarkets across the capital including Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Tesco when heading out on essential trips.
Also ensuring that the capital doesn’t forgo their Friday night entertainment, ES magazine are hosting ‘Big ES Friday Night In’, entertainment from the comfort of the home including a London quiz hosted by the brilliant Amelia Dimoldenberg, cocktail-making masterclass by Jason Atherton from his home bar to raise our spirits, and a feel-good set from DJ Fat Tony.
This can be accessed via standard.co.uk/esmagazine and their social feeds. All in an effort to unite the capital and come together in a time of crisis and isolation.
