So, what if you cannot visit Dubai and explore its culture and beauty, the city has come right at your fingertips as Dubai now has its own address on Google Arts and Culture.

Dubai has launched Dubai’s Culture and Heritage project on Google Arts and Culture which was announced on Thursday by Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture).

This online platform will showcase Dubai’s culture and heritage, detailing its transformation from a fishing village to a global creative hub.

The launch of the online platform comes as a part of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai to strengthen Dubai’s position on the global stage and make it the global center of the creative economy.

Google Arts & Culture is an online platform that showcases artworks and cultural artifacts from around the world through high-resolution images and videos. Visitors can explore museums, artworks, festivals, and more from all corners of the globe through this.

For Dubai, the platform has uploaded over 800 detailed images of 120 artifacts as well as 70 stories that document the emirate’s history, presented through the eyes of its residents.

All the content on the platform is available in English and Arabic and can be accessed through a portal on the Google Arts & Culture website.

Through the portal, one can deep-dive into the city’s pearl-diving history and highlights some of its architectural accomplishments.

“I am pleased to be launching Dubai’s Culture & Heritage on Google Arts & Culture,” said Sheikha Latifa, adding, “Technology and creativity often intersect, resulting in fascinating experiences, and Google Arts & Culture is a prime example.”

“Thanks to the vision and guidance of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai now holds a distinguished position on the global creative map. We are proud that the city has truly become a global center for arts, culture, and creativity, a place where we empower and enable our home-grown talents, and welcome creatives from all over the world, offering them a home where they can thrive on a professional and personal level,” she said.

The project will highlight the diversity of Dubai’s cultural offering, giving people around the world a platform to take a glimpse of Dubai’s hidden gems and unique natural habitats.
