Expo 2020 Dubai will host a three-day global gathering of world leaders in politics, business, technology, and culture from March 6-8.
To mark the International Women’s Day on March 8, Expo 2020 Dubai will host a gathering of world leaders from the field of politics, business, technology, and culture.
The event which will take place from March 6 to 8, will throw a spotlight on gender equality, celebrate the female talent and work towards urgent change that goes beyond the current oratory quotas.
The three-day event will host a diverse programme that reflects the 2022 theme of International Women’s Day – #BreakTheBias – which values differences and imagines a gender-equal world, free of stereotypes and discrimination.
Celebrating women’s contribution to culture, the programming includes a two-day music festival ‘We, the Women Festival of Stories’, that will take place at Dubai’s Festival Garden featuring international women artists and female-led bands.
On March 8 itself, there will be a Break the Bias Assembly, led by Expo 2020 Dubai and running between 9.30-13.00 at Dubai Exhibition Centre. It aims to promote women’s leadership in on the subjects of diplomacy, industry, health, and youth wherein discussion on progress towards gender equality through project collaboration and idea-sharing will take place.
A part of Expo 2020 Dubai’s Programme for People and Planet, the International Women’s Day schedule centres around 10 Theme Weeks that offer an exchange of inspiring new perspectives to address the greatest challenges and opportunities of our time.
