The United Arab Emirates and India are strengthening their ties and building new deals for a better future.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of UAE is on a visit to India as a chief guest for the Vibrant Gujarat Summit which began on January 10, 2024.

Upon his landing on Tuesday evening at Ahmedabad Airport in the Indian state of Gujrat, Sheikh Mohammed was received by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. An amazing 3-kilometer-long mega roadshow was also conducted for the UAE President’s arrival.

The visit by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was one of the main attractions of the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in Gandhinagar. His visit was significant in boosting trade and investment relations between the two nations.

Memorandums of Understanding (MoU)

HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan addressed the Inaugural Ceremony of VGGS as Chief Guest. During the meeting, PM Modi and the UAE President, the leaders of the two nations finalized four Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) including investment cooperation for creative healthcare projects, investment cooperation in renewable energy between the UAE’s investment ministry and India’s renewable energy ministry, investment cooperation in food parks development between the UAE’s investment ministry and India’s food processing ministry, and the development of green and sustainable ports in Gujarat.

Gaza ceasefire

On Thursday, January 10, 2024, India and the United Arab Emirates released a joint statement, calling for a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza.

Building India’s biggest mall

UAE-based retailer LuLu Group is set to construct India’s biggest shopping mall, in Ahmedabad. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 4,000 crore. The construction for the shopping mall is set to start in 2024 as per Chairman and Managing Director of Lulu Group International, Yusuff Ali MA.
