Mashable: The Middle Eastern country, known for its arid climate struggled with flooding from April 16 evening to April 17 which affected the daily lives of its residents – marking the heaviest rainfall event the nation has seen in the past 75 years.

The United Arab Emirates recorded 6.04 billion cubic metres of rain last week as unprecedented weather struck the country on Tuesday. The country typically only receives approximately 6.7 billion cubic metres of rainfall annually.
It is important to note that all seven emirates struggled with this extraordinary occurrence with rainfall exceeding 100 mm within 24 hours.

According to the Khaleej Times, the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) projected that the country is set to experience fair to partly cloudy conditions today, Monday, April 22, 2024.
It could be cloudy towards the west as the day advances. The northern and eastern areas are expected to get cloudy by night and Tuesday morning.
There is also a probability of light to moderate rainfall. However, NCM experts have assured that there is nothing to worry about as the rains will “not even be comparable” to last week’s unprecedented event.

Meanwhile, Monday’s temperatures may rise to 40ºC in internal areas and dip to a minimum of 13ºC in mountainous regions.
The maximum temperature in Abu Dhabi is expected to be 35ºC. Whereas, in Dubai, the temperature could reach 36ºC. The minimum temperatures in the regions are expected to reach 20ºC and 22ºC, respectively.
The weather situation in the UAE is anticipated to improve by Wednesday with a drop of five to seven degrees in temperature
