Global Soft Power Index-2024: Emirates scores 10/10 for ‘strong and stable economy’

Mashable: Emirates holds 10th place globally in the Brand Finance Soft Power Index 2024

The United Arab Emirates has achieved top positions in the Global Soft Power Index-2024.

On Thursday, February 29, 2024, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, took to X/ Twitter to announce that the Emirates has ranked 10th globally in the Global Soft Power Index-2024.

The UAE has been ranked tenth globally in the Global Soft Power Index for the year 2024, which also includes 193 countries from around the world.

According to The National News, the rankings on Brand Finance’s Soft Power Index showcase several Gulf states reaching new heights in global standing.

It was revealed on Thursday, that the Emirates is viewed as the world’s most “strong and stable economy”. The United Arab Emirates came 10th for the second year in a row in global rankings and 1st regionally in Global Soft Power Index 2024. UAE’s score of 59.7 out of 100 was up compared to last year.

The Ruler of Dubai in his tweet wrote, “Global appreciation for the UAE is strengthening every day.”

Recognising the people, H H Sheikh Mohammed added, “Thousands of work teams in all fields continue day and night to achieve all of this... Our appreciation is for everyone... and the world, God willing, will continue to appreciate the UAE and its exceptional journey.”

Besides UAE, the neighbouring Gulf state, Saudi Arabia is also enjoying “stronger perceptions” after massive investment in football and tourism. The US remained at the top of the index.

Meanwhile, Gulf nations are observed to be the biggest climbers since the index was launched in 2020 by consultancy Brand Finance.
