According to a recent report, Google Assistant, the company's smart, voice-controlled digital assistant, will soon be able to better recognize your frequently used terms and names.

This information was obtained by 9to5Google in a report detailing some of the alterations seen deep within the code of the Google app on the Play Store.

After decompiling the app, the site says that the 'Personalised voice recognition feature will save recordings on your phone/device and that this data can be removed at any moment by simply turning off the feature.

This extends Google Assistant's ability to recognize your voice when you use the 'Hey Google' wake phrase to words that you use as well as actual commands and requests that you make.

According to 9to5Google, the recordings of these requests will then be examined on the device, which aids transcription and makes subsequent responses more accurate and relevant.

According to the report, this will most likely be an opt-in option when it is formally released, rather than being turned on by default. So, if you don't want recordings of your requests stored somewhere, it shouldn't do that by default. You must turn it on for it to function.
