After a tense match in Qatar's Lusail Stadium Friday night, Argentina, captained by Lionel Messi, triumphed over France. After Argentina took an early lead, French attacker Kylian Mbappe sparked a spectacular comeback with two goals in as many minutes to ignite the crowd. In the ensuing overtime period, the score remained equal at three goals apiece. In the end, Argentina prevailed over France in a penalty shootout after a scoreless 90 minutes.

Yesterday evening, when fans watched the FIFA World Cup final and researched the players and teams, Messi and Mbappe were among the top social media trends.
