Digital agency, hug digital, which was recently acquired by WPP’s Grey Group, has promoted its director of client servicing and social, Bassel Sawy, to general manager of its Dubai operation.
Before joining hug digital earlier this year, Sawy worked at Digital Republic linked by Isobar, a Dentsu Aegis Network agency.
Tim Baker, hug’s co-founder and CEO, says in a statement, “In a very short period of time, Bassel has smoothly navigated both internal and external challenges. He’s won the respect and support of the Dubai team and tackled all client issues head on.”
Speaking about his new role in the agency, Sawy adds, “Everyone claims to be an expert in digital, but for us it’s simple. We’ll continue producing work that combines creativity and innovation, backed up by ‘meaningful’ data. As ever, the brand’s business objectives remain at the heart of everything we do”.
Going forward, Sawy’s new role will see him focus on retaining and growing the agency’s client roster and pushing for further agency growth via innovation.
