Abu Dhabi, Saturday, 13 December 2025 — The first edition of Mobile Developers Week officially kicked off today in Abu Dhabi, in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Convention and Exhibition Bureau (ADCEB), part of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi). The event is taking place at the Abu Dhabi Energy Center, operated by ADNOC, and brings together leading voices from government entities and global technology companies.
Running until 15 December, Mobile Developers Week hosts more than 60 speakers who are pioneers in mobile application development and artificial intelligence, alongside developers, programmers, entrepreneurs, and decision-makers from the UAE, the region, and around the world. The event underscores Abu Dhabi’s growing role as a global hub for the digital economy and future-focused technologies.
Speakers participating in the conference represent prominent organizations including the Ministry of Health and Prevention, Google, Oracle, Microsoft, and X, in addition to a number of regional and international technology companies. Discussions focus on the latest trends and real-world applications in artificial intelligence, digital transformation, mobile app development, user experience, and cybersecurity.
The event is supported by a strong network of partners, including the Abu Dhabi Convention and Exhibition Bureau (ADCEB) as Destination Partner, Sharjah Media City (Shams), Khalifa University, Samsung, Zoho, Google Developer Groups, ArabiaWeather, and Wajeez, reflecting close collaboration between the public and private sectors to advance the region’s digital innovation ecosystem.
A key highlight of Mobile Developers Week is its hosting of the world’s two largest developer communities for Android and iOS under one roof, through Droidcon Abu Dhabi and Swift Heroes Abu Dhabi. This first-of-its-kind regional gathering positions Abu Dhabi as a leading global destination for the mobile applications economy and advanced digital technologies.
The event features four specialized platforms: GovAI Summit (Government Artificial Intelligence Summit), NextPlay Arena, Droidcon Abu Dhabi, Swift Heroes Abu Dhabi, together, these platforms explore future challenges and opportunities in mobile app development, artificial intelligence, digital governance, and innovation across both public and private sectors.
The opening day featured a keynote address by Eng. Hamda AlMaazmi, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Office at the Ministry of Health and Prevention, delivered as part of the GovAI Summit. Her address highlighted the Ministry’s experience in leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance healthcare and administrative services, support the transition to cloud-based infrastructure, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen institutional readiness in line with the UAE’s national strategy for adopting advanced technologies.
Mobile Developers Week comes at a time when the global mobile applications economy has surpassed USD 935 billion, alongside accelerating growth in technology investments across the UAE. This reinforces the event’s importance as a strategic platform for knowledge exchange, developer empowerment, and driving digital innovation across the region.
